My son started stuttering 2 years ago when he was 7 and we thought it was due to his ADHD and mind going so fast but it’s only gotten more noticeable. It embarrasses him and I’ve heard many other kids make comments about it.

This could help him in school and social settings. He was diagnosed as ADHD and high functioning autistic and the stuttering is one more extra thing he has. That’s one less thing we and he could worry about and focus specifically on his behavior without him feeling like the stuttering is causing more frustration and problems.

Well receiving this scholarship would be a life-changing opportunity that would have a significant impact on both my personal and professional development. As a final-year university student, I am approaching a critical stage of my life where effective communication is becoming increasingly important for academic success, career opportunities, and personal growth.
Throughout my life, stuttering has presented challenges in expressing myself confidently, particularly in situations that require public speaking, presentations, interviews, and conversations with unfamiliar people. While I have worked hard to manage these challenges independently, professional support would provide me with the guidance, tools, and strategies needed to communicate more effectively and confidently.
Academically, this scholarship would help me strengthen my participation in class discussions, presentations, and group projects during my final year of study. As I prepare to complete my degree, the ability to communicate my ideas clearly and confidently is essential for maximizing my academic performance and preparing for the demands of the professional world.
The impact on my future career would be especially significant. As I begin applying for graduate opportunities, internships, and full-time employment, communication skills will play a critical role in interviews, networking events, workplace interactions, and leadership opportunities. Receiving specialized support now would help me enter the workforce with greater confidence and the ability to represent myself more effectively.
Beyond academics and employment, this scholarship would positively influence my daily life and relationships. Improved communication would allow me to engage more comfortably with family, friends, colleagues, and members of my community. It would help me express my thoughts and ideas more freely, build stronger relationships, and participate more actively in social and professional environments.
Most importantly, this scholarship would not simply help me improve my speech; it would help me unlock opportunities that may otherwise feel out of reach. At this crucial stage of my life, the support would provide lasting benefits that extend far beyond university, equipping me with skills and confidence that I can carry into my career, relationships, and future aspirations. The impact would be long-term, empowering me to communicate more effectively, pursue opportunities with confidence, and reach my full potential.
